Dental Assistant / Receptionist invited to join our friendly team.
We are a high-end boutique practice in Remuera, Auckland. We undertake all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry.
We require a Dental Assistant/Receptionist starting in Mid April 2024 who will take ownership of the following responsibilities:
- Readying patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patients.
- Providing information to patients by answering questions and requests.
- Documenting dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Maintaining patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintaining dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.
- Supporting dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials.
- Supporting dentist to perform dental procedures.
- Educating patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Ensuring operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
This is a minimum 30 hrs. job per week. You will be well remunerated at 25 - 30$ hourly rate dependent on experience.
At least 1 years’ experience in a customer facing role required. Previous work experience in the dental industry preferred but not essential. An excellent level of communication and patient (customer) interaction is required. Training will be given to the right successful applicant. You must be well groomed, honest, punctual, show initiative, display a positive can-do attitude, and love working as part of a team.
Excellent written and spoken English is essential together with good keyboard skills.
To be eligible for this role, you must be currently fully vaccinated, or prepared to be fully vaccinated prior to starting with us. You will be required to provide proof. This is in accordance with the Government's Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order.
