We are currently in a growth phase, and therefore invite experienced Electronics Repair Technicians to apply for an exciting position based in our head office in Mt Wellington, Auckland. Candidates will be responsible for level 0, 1, and 2 repairs, and various other repair related services. The role will be primarily focused on our mobile products division, being Apple & Samsung products initially. We are both an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) and a Samsung Authorized Service Centre (ASC), so previous experience in manufacturer authorized repair processes is a nice to have. Full manufacturer-based training will be provided.
To be considered for the position, previous experience in both hardware and software within the mobile device (or similar electronics) repair environment is a pre-requisite, ideally with a minimum of one-two years in the industry. Ideally applicants would also have tertiary qualifications or manufacturer certifications in electronics (or similar) fields.
Role Overview:
As a ABC Electronics Repair Technician you should be able to interpret/read technical service manuals and bulletins. Good knowledge and experience with electronic repairing equipment is essential, as well as proficient computer skills, including strong operational knowledge of mobile phone OS platforms such as iOS and Android. You will be required to use various electronics hand tools, power supplies, fixtures, and other test interfaces. The role will be required to complete all technical documentation and enter data into various software applications or on appropriate forms. You will also be expected to establish a pattern of continuous improvement and work within accepted quality guidelines to achieve goals.
Main Responsibilities are not limited to but will include:
- Productivity: Achieving personal repair targets and volumes
- Customer Satisfaction: Completing repairs to the required standard within the designated time period, with minimal re-service/return rate
- Documentation: Accurately document repairs/complete job sheets and various internal communications such as parts management/requests
- Quality Control: Operating to required company standards and procedures
- Teamwork: Assist others in the team with your specific expertise areas
- Constant Learning: Show a passion for ongoing improvement and growth
- General Duties: Assisting in workshop maintenance to ensure a clean and healthy laboratory environment
- ESD (Electrostatic Sensitive Discharge): Observing all workshop ESD requirements
Hardware Repair (Level 0, 1, 2):
- Disassemble/reassemble with fast output and minimal parts breakage
- Schematic Reading/Accurate Diagnosis
- Fast testing capability/quality control
Software Repair:
- Device re-flashing (using manufacturer supplied software and hardware tools)
- IMEI writing
- Diagnosis tools
- Water resistance testing tools
- Data synchronization and backups
- Sound knowledge of various industry-related software applications
Minimum Criteria:
- Minimum 1 year experience in mobile device repair or similar electronics fields.
