Position: Experienced Dog Groomer (Full-time or Part-time)

Location: North Shore Rosedale, Auckland

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Interaction:
Handle grooming inquiries with a friendly and accommodating manner.
Efficiently schedule grooming appointments ensuring dogs are ready for pick-up at scheduled times.
Conduct thorough consultations with owners, discussing grooming styles and assessing the dog's coat condition.
Provide accurate cost estimates for grooming services and explain service scopes and pricings to customers.
Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer preferences and concerns.

Grooming Process:
Ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs during their stay, and check their conditions thoroughly on arrival. Take pictures of any wounds, infections, or concerns and communicate with owners immediately before proceeding to the next steps. Always use appropriate securing methods such as chocker chains and grooming cages.
Handle matting situations professionally, advising necessary actions for the dog's well-being.
Handle dogs gently, using a firm yet calm approach with a respectful manner, especially if they are difficult or anxious.
Communicate with owners at the end of each appointment addressing any concerns or behavioral issues. Recommending products and offering advice for interim grooming care.
Schedule follow-up appointments and maintain detailed records of grooming sessions and preferences.
Maintain a high standard of hygiene, security, and Health/Safety protocols.
If incidents occur, perform first aid immediately and communicate with the supervisor regarding the incident.

We're looking for someone who:
Is confident in handling dogs of all ages and sizes
Demonstrates patience, care, and perseverance
Has a strong work ethic and reliability
Can work independently and collaboratively
Is experienced with professional dog grooming, breed standard haircuts, and various breeds
Communicates effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences
Is physically fit for the demanding nature of the role
Has an eye for detail
