The role of the Restraint Coordinator is crucial in ensuring that ABC Services adheres to both our internal Restraint Minimisation and Safe Practice Policy, as well as Part 6 of the Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability Services Standard NZS 8134:2021. Their contribution is essential in maintaining compliance with these guidelines and promoting a safe and responsible approach to the use of restraint within our organization.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

Requirement: Registered CPI Safety Interventions Trainer or the potential to become certified as a CPI Safety Interventions trainer. Possession of a valid full driver's license. Proficiency in leading team-based training for challenging teams and/or teams working with individuals with complex support needs. Adequate understanding of Positive Behaviour Support, De-escalation Techniques, Trauma-Informed Practices, Sensory Modulation, and other strategies for minimizing the use of restraints. Ability to think creatively, problem solve, and constructively challenge existing norms. Advanced computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and accurate management of administrative tasks. Positive attitude and a strong commitment to continuous learning and upskilling while on the job.
