About the role
Due to an internal promotion, ABC is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and experienced planner to join our Resource Consents team. With increasing population and financial growth and a diverse and dynamic coastal environment, now is a great time to be part of a team that assists in developing our District.
In this role, you will provide training and actively and positively coach less experienced team members to achieve greater levels of responsibility and performance. You will also assist and advise the Resource Consents Team Leaders on any matters relating to the content and processing of resource consents, particularly complex planning approvals. This is a key role in our Resource Consents planning space, with lots of autonomy and influence.
Skills and Experience:
- Five or more years proven working experience in Planning/Resource Management area (Planning Officer) or a relevant degree in Environmental Planning/Resource Management
- Ability to become a member of a Planning Institute or other related and recognised institution
- Have a strong working knowledge of case law and RMA processes related to District Plan implementation
- Ability to effectively apply and interpret the Resource Management Act 1991, other relevant legislations and legal documents
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coach and mentor team members
- Ability to facilitate, mediate, negotiate and resolve Resource Consent disputes
