ABC is a leading metal casting foundry utilising multiple manufacturing processes within the same facility. Processes include, hard sand, green sand and investment metal casting methods, as well as heat treatment and other finishing tasks. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality metal castings tailored to our clients' specifications. With a commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dedicated Production Planner & Quality Controller to play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations and maintaining our standards of quality.

Location: Avondale - Auckland

Responsibilities:

Develop production schedules and plans for all orders, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources and meeting delivery deadlines.
Coordinate with various departments including production, procurement, and logistics to optimise workflow and minimize lead times.
Conduct thorough quality inspections throughout the production process to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
Identify and address any quality issues promptly, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain product integrity.
Collaborate with production teams to continuously improve processes and implement best practices for quality control.
Maintain accurate records of production activities, quality inspection results, and inventory levels.

Requirements:

Prefered tertiary training in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
Proven experience in production planning and quality control within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards. Previous knowledge of metal casting is not necessary, but highly desirable.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on ensuring accuracy and consistency in quality control processes.
Proficiency in using production planning software and MS Office suite.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate with suppliers and clients.
