We are an accredited employer and expanding our team to provide best customer service experience and are looking for a Shift Manager to be a part of our growth in New Zealand.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
To assist the Manager/Owner to operate ABC in all areas of the business in compliance with ABC Operations. As Shift Manager you will have a hands-on approach, motivating your team while ensuring customers receive outstanding service. This will include helping to run a successful and profitable business, training staff, food preparation and business planning including forecasting. This is a minimum 30 hrs/week role which could go up to 40-45 hrs. This is a 24/7 business and candidate must be able to commit for shift work including Night shifts.
We are seeking a person who is able to "hit the ground running" and must be able to prove they fit the criteria's below:
JOB REQUIREMENTS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Excellent communication and client retention skills
- Excellent understanding of best practices in retail industry/fuel industry
- Willing to learn and adapt compliance requirements as per policy of franchisor and regarding procedural requirements
- Maintaining high standards at all times, within the store and forecourt
- Retail/ fuel experience of two years and at least 1 year at the supervisor/ assistant manager or shift manager level
- Understanding of the employment, health & safety and other legal requirements of running a business
- Ability to motivate and lead a team
- Timely reporting and record keeping
- Ensure that the store is properly prepared and ready to receive customers all the time and products are properly merchandised, and forecourt is presented as clean and tidy
- The ability to work after hours/ night shifts & weekends with the option of taking on additional hours as and when required is a must
- Professional, reliable, and punctual
- Computer literate with the ability to and hands-on basic computer operations
- Knowledge of food industry is preferred but not a requirement. We can provide suitable training to the right candidate
- Informing clients about available promotions in store and promoting sales
- Can-do attitude & willingness to learn.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Highly skilled and experienced Retail supervisor are crucial to the overall success of our business. Ideal candidates shall have meet following requirements to be successful:
- Having at least 1 to 2 years or more practical work experience in a similar or higher capacity
- Must be able to do evening, weekends and night shifts because we are 24/7 business
- Must have good communication skills and be able to communicate in English at a good level. This is necessary to communicate with our clients and colleagues
- Fluent with numbers including understanding of mark ups, gross profits, net profits etc
