Venue Manager
Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Venue Manager to lead our new Venue in Wanaka. ABC is a small intimate cozy bar with a taps style menu. Think small, small amount of beers, small amount of wines, small menu - but all great. Quality over quantity.
We're looking for a hospitality professional with a proven track record in management and a deep understanding of the elements that contribute to a successful hospitality business. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys autonomy and is passionate about creating a new venue and putting their stamp on it.
The ability to manage and lead a team is essential, so we are looking for a true team player, someone who gets hospitality and understands the importance of delighting customers.
We are an accredited employer, so we can support applicants wanting to stay in NZ longer, and to transfer from a Working Holiday Visa to a Sponsored Visa.
Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the venue, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to optimize cost efficiency.
- Implement and maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of passionate and customer-focused staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and employee development.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and performance reviews to ensure continuous improvement.
Customer Experience:
- Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction by consistently meeting and exceeding guest expectations.
- Implement strategies to enhance the overall guest experience and drive repeat business.
- Address customer feedback promptly and effectively.
Financial Management:
- Monitor and manage budgets, revenue targets, and cost controls to achieve financial objectives.
- Analyze financial reports and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
Marketing and Promotions:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional activities and events.
- Contribute ideas to enhance the venue's visibility within the local community.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry.
Strong understanding of bar operations, including inventory management and cost control.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to delivering a positive guest experience.
Financial acumen and the ability to analyze and interpret financial reports.
Knowledge of local market trends and competition in the hospitality industry.

We are an accredited employer, so can support applicants wanting to stay in NZ longer, and to transfer from a Working Holiday Visa to a Sponsored Visa.
We also can transfer visas but we are not looking to sponsor anyone from outside of New Zealand. Candidates will need a minimum of one interview and trial in person.
